As soon as you arrive in Austria you need to register at the local registry office (Meldeamt)
Within the first 3 days of arrival
In case you stay at by hotel/hostel, the reception will register you so you don't need to go to the registry office. However, as soon as you move to a private place you have to register within the first 3 days.
At registry office --> See "Links" for registration offices in Vienna. You can register at any of the listed registration offices. It does not need to be in the same district you are going to live.
- Valid Passport or ID

- However bring to the office the German version – here.
IMPORTANT: it has to be signed by the landlord (the person you are renting the apartment from or the dormitory administration in case you are staying in a dormitory one) and you (the tenant).
