    Musikverein

    The home of the Vienna Philharmonic orchestra, one of the best orchestras in the world, this concert hall only hosts the highest calibre of musicians, and no classical-music lover will leave here disappointed. Due to its highly regarded acoustics it’s often cited as one of the greatest concert halls in the world, and is the home to Vienna’s renowned New Year’s Concert. Tickets are sold exclusively by the orchestra at their box office, just a two minute walk from the hall. Make sure you book well in advance, as it’s one of the most popular music venues in the world!

    Less than an hour’s drive from Vienna, this incredible venue is situated in the grounds of the beautiful Grafenegg castle. The award-winning open air stage features an abundance of famous international guests playing repertoire from Mozart to Swing, not least from their critically acclaimed resident Tonkünstler Orchestra. Be sure to book your tickets in advance, as their concerts can sell out in minutes!

    Built in 1993, this venue and bar is home to some of the best jazz in the city, if not Europe. With a warm and friendly atmosphere, Porgy and Bess is one of the best places for a chilled night of high-quality jazz. Appreciative audiences
    enjoy reasonably priced food and drink while they listen to a laid-back programme focused around jazz, but which also offers blues and world music.

    Dachboden

    For a more chilled out evening of cocktails and great views, Dachboden is the place
    to go. A trendy bar both inside and out, Dachboden serves good and inexpensive
    drinks to a young and lively crowd. Opening at 3pm, this place fills quickly,
    so be prepared to stand, but you’ll hardly notice while watching the sun set
    over the beautiful Viennese skyline, especially on Wednesday nights, their
    renowned swing and soul evening.

        Situated in a disused tunnel under the Danube, Flex is a hub of young electro-lovers.
        This well-established local club is buzzing in the summer, with thousands of people hanging     around the river listening to a showcase of electro-indie from what’s voted to be one of the     best clubs in the world.

    Both internationally renowned and up-and-coming DJs present a range of electro sets
    in this fish-themed music club, located in the 9th district. The music focus is techo, but they also showcase a variety of other genres including house, hip-hop and alternative. Admission is €12, but the atmosphere and quality of music are worth it. Don’t arrive too early or you may find yourself in an empty club! The party usually starts around 1am.

    With over 300 events and 1 million visitors a year, the Wiener Stadthalle is one of the biggest and most diverse venues in Vienna. All the biggest names play here, having housed musical legends from Bob Dylan and Rod Stewart to contemporary stars Lady Gaga and Linkin Park. Their variety doesn’t end there, as this huge complex also holds one of Vienna’s biggest tennis tournaments – Erste Bank Open – as well as a plethora of musicals such as Dirty Dancing and We Will Rock You.
